We’re delighted to announce that BBC Studios and Post Production (BBC S&PP) has installed PixStor as part of a storage refresh for its Digital Media Services division. The new PixStor offers BBC S&PP Digital Media Services an initial working capacity of 130TB with a guaranteed 9.6Gb/s of network performance, shared across their media hub services, program acquisitions and digitisation projects. The chosen solution was supplied by specialist reseller Root6 who identified PixStor as the most cost effective fit for the customer’s workflow and growth requirements. “With the wealth of digitisation projects that lie ahead, Digital Media Services needed a cost effective, scale-able and high performance answer to the central storage question,” says Rupert Watson, sales director at Root6, “as PixStor is based on a commodity hardware platform, the costs of future storage growth are much more transparent.” We look forward to supporting BBC S&PP Digital Media Services in the future.
Look out for a more detailed case study on our work with BBC S&PP soon.
